About Us: History
M & O Metals, Inc. was founded in 1970 by Alvin Fuchs and Larry Martinson to provide miscellaneous and ornamental fabricated metal products to the construction industry in eastern and central Nebraska. The letters "M & O" originally stood for "Miscellaneous and Ornamental". Custom metal fabrication was the company's primary activity for the first several years. Mr. Martinson left the company in 1977 and Alvin's son Dan joined M & O Metals later that year.
In the late 1970's, contractors began inquiring about steel doors, frames and builders hardware. M & O Metals established a relationship with Ceco Corporation and several builders hardware manufacturers and began supplying local construction projects. The commercial door and hardware business continued to grow to the point it was necessary to operate it as its own division and began doing business as M & O Door Products.
In 1980 M & O Metals partnered with Overhead Door Corporation to expand its product offering with overhead sectional and rolling steel garage and shop doors, including installation and service. Overhead Door Company of Columbus was created as a third division of the corporation. A year later, M & O became a distributor for Overhead Door Corporation's Horton Automatics division, adding automatic powered swinging and sliding commercial doors to its product line.
Over the years, many more manufacturers and suppliers have been added to our product lineup. Today M & O Door Products serves the healthcare, education, retail, manufacturing, utility and lodging industries. With thousands of door, frame and hardware components in stock, we are able to provide quick turnaround of orders.
We employ AAADM certified door and hardware service technicians who can be dispatched when installation, preventive maintenance or repairs are needed. Preventive maintenance programs are available for annual, semiannual, quarterly or monthly inspections.
M & O Door Products has a complete line of toilet partitions and accessories for commercial washrooms. Toilet partition layouts are configured to suit your unique washroom floor plan. Grab bars, mirrors, tissue dispensers and soap and towel dispensers are available in a variety of styles.
